2. Third-party data attribution & non-affiliation
Chromastat is an independent project by Amr Zriek. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or authorized by Adobe Inc. (makers of Adobe Lightroom) or Time in Pixels (makers of Nobe OmniScope). All referenced trademarks, service marks, and trade names are the property of their respective owners.
CIE 1931 xy and 1976 u′v′ chromaticity diagrams, reference gamut boundaries (such as sRGB/Rec.709, DCI-P3, and Rec.2020), and spectral locus tables are based on standard colorimetric data published by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Third-party reference data remains the property of its respective standards organizations and is used solely for objective color reference.
3. Scope of measurement, executable status, & disclaimer
Chromastat samples displayed 8-bit, full-range standard dynamic range (SDR) RGB pixels directly from Windows screen surfaces. It does not read camera RAW sensor files, proprietary RAW metadata, or operating system ICC color-management transformations. All CIE and exposure calculations assume standard sRGB chromaticities with a D65 white point. High-resolution histogram bins increase statistical granularity of displayed pixel values, but cannot recover information clipped, quantized, or altered in the display pipeline.
Windows binaries provided via GitHub releases are currently unsigned by a commercial code-signing certificate authority and may trigger Microsoft SmartScreen or Windows publisher warnings during installation or launch. Users can inspect the source code or build independently using the repository build scripts.
