1. Local screen and window capture in memory
Chromastat runs entirely on your Windows computer. When you select Find Lightroom or choose a custom capture region, Chromastat inspects displayed standard dynamic range (SDR) RGB pixels directly from that window or display area in volatile memory on your GPU and CPU.
Captured video frames are processed exclusively in real time to calculate live visual scopes: waveforms, histograms, vectorscopes, and CIE chromaticity diagrams. Chromastat never records, stores, caches to disk, or transmits captured frames, screenshots, or photographs over any network.
2. Local workspace layout & preset storage
Chromastat requires no user account, registration, or online activation. It contains no telemetry, analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, crash-reporting daemons, or background network services.
Your dock arrangements, floating window positions, and scope view presets are stored locally on your device in standard configuration files under your Windows user profile. You can reset or remove your configuration at any time by deleting these files or removing the portable application folder.
